Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital offer an exciting opportunity for 1 fellowship in Cardiology. This post are suitable for someone who wishes to further their experience in General Cardiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of both the inpatient and outpatient care on a full-time basis and as part of a multidisciplinary team. The post will run for 6 or 12 months depending on the candidate's preference. There will be up to 2 sessions per week of non-service provisional educational training available.

Main duties of the job
This post holder will assist in the provision of inpatient and outpatient care for our cardiology patients.
The post-holder will take part in up to two to three relevant outpatient clinics per week with appropriate consultant supervision and support. The post-holder will also become a member of the registrar group undertaking daily morning ward rounds and providing general in-patient care. The clinical commitments will also involve covering on-call duties including weekends and nights, as per the registrar rota.
There will be up to 2 sessions per week of non-service provisional educational training available. This may comprise one session in cardiac imaging and another catheter laboratory session. However, it may be possible to negotiate this to other cardiac sub-specialty interests. Alternatively, this time could be used for the development of an audit or research project.
About us
The Cardiovascular directorate at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is a large, tertiary centre for acute referrals, providing highly specialised treatments to patients of South East London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. The three departments of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Vascular Surgery have 132 beds at the St Thomas' hub site, 5 cardiac catheter laboratories, 4 dedicated operating theatres and a vascular hybrid facility with integrated imaging.
The senior clinical teams in the directorate provide some of the most advanced treatment options available, including TAVIs, complex EVARs, TEVARs and MVRs.
The Clinical Director for the directorate are Dr Gerry Carr-White and Dr Mark O'Neill and the General Manager is Mr Charlie Winstanley. Each of the departments has a Clinical Lead, with consultants in each team organised into firms based on specialist interest.
