Band 7 Occupational Therapist, Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and holistic Occupational Therapist to join our Lambeth Neuro Rehab Team. We are looking for therapists with experience and a keen interest in neurological rehabilitation to provide high quality, client-centred and goal-orientated rehabilitation for patients in the borough Southwark. We support agile working - staff members will be provided with their own mobile devices.
The Neuro Rehab Team sits within a larger Community Neuro Rehab Service which consists of the following teams:
- Community Stroke Team
- Inpatient 2b Rehab Team
- South East London Neuro Navigation Service
We are a MDT service consisting of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehab Assistants, Clinical Psychologists, Rehab Consultant and Social Workers. We provide a combination of early responsive and intensive rehabilitation and long term condition management to support clients with neurological conditions to lead a meaningful independent life. Working with a neurological caseload is never boring and challenges us to sometimes 'think outside the box', be flexible, adaptable and even inventive in our approach. Therefore we are looking for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist seeking a new challenge, or an experienced Band 6 ready to progress into a Band 7 role.
Main duties of the job
You will be an Occupational Therapist with postgraduate experience working with adults with acquired neurological impairments (physical, sensory, cognitive, and communication). The position will suit individuals keen to enhance their specialism in neurological rehabilitation for example in upper limb rehab skills, cognitive rehab or pre-vocational rehab input. You will be responsible for supervision of band 6 OTs and supporting wider team development. Ideally you will have community neurological rehabilitation experience. You will also be expected to contribute to multidisciplinary service improvement initiatives through audit and quality improvement projects.
About us
You will be well-supported through supervision and appraisal; and will have access to a planned programme of in-service training within the wider community neuro rehabilitation team of over 15 OTs as well as the wider GSTT OT community. You will also have access to the benefits of belonging to Guys and St Thomas' Foundation Trust and Kings Health Partners, an Academic Health Science Centre.
Work-related travel:
Please note you do not need to be able to drive for the community posts. If you do drive there are pool cars available or you can use your own car. You would otherwise use public transport, own bicycle, or walk. Travel expenses are reimbursed.
