Job summary

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Senior Radiotherapy Engineer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. This is a great opportunity to join a team of specialist engineers supporting a major cancer centre at Guy's Hospital in central London and our satellite centre at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup.

The Cancer Centre is currently equipped with eight Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, a TomoTherapy system, three GE CT scanners for simulation, a superficial x-ray treatment unit and an expanding Elekta HDR brachytherapy service. The centre serves a population of 1.9 million and typically treats over 4000 patients per year. There is a thriving research programme and close links with our university partner, King's College London.

The successful applicant will be an electrical / electronic engineer with specific knowledge and experience of radiotherapy equipment, ideally with Varian LINACs but experience with Elekta LINACs would also be considered, to undertake maintenance, fault-finding, calibration and QC procedures.

You should have relevant medical electronic experience within a hospital environment and be educated to degree level / HNC / HND or equivalent qualifications. Applicants should have good communication skills and be able to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
