Job summary

This is a fixed term role that covers both Evelina London Children's Hospital and Kings College London. The postholder will be leading on clinical pharmacy services for paediatric patients, in particular palliative care, to ensure safe and clinically effective use of medicines in these patients. The postholder will also be providing academic teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students at King's College London and perform a liaison role between the College and the hospital base, to ensure teaching reflects current clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an Academic Link Paediatric Pharmacist to provide academic teaching to under and postgraduate pharmacy students at King's College London, to undertake clinical pharmacy practice at the Evelina London Children's Hospital and to perform a liaison role between the College and the hospital base.

The role will have a 40:60 split between Kings College London and the Evelina London Children's Hospital

The state-of-the-art Evelina London Children's Hospital opened in the autumn of 2005 on the St Thomas' Hospital site of Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The hospital offers a wide range of specialist services for children from south east England and beyond. The hospital includes its own standalone dispensary and delivers comprehensive pharmaceutical services.

The Department of Pharmacy at King's College London is part of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences within the Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine. The Department is recognised for its excellence in teaching and research.
