Job summary
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an experienced registered nurse with specialist skills to assess and treat patients and manage the clinical environment, in liaison with the management and consultant team. The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner in forming clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients.
In conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practicewithin the clinical speciality. The post holder will develop new areas of practice, with nursing and consultant staff ensuring quality standards are met.
The post holder will work closely with the interdisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that high quality patient care is maintained.

Cancer & Surgery Clinical Group
We have an exciting opportunity within the Gastrointestinal Medicine & Surgery Directorate for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join and lead our Colorectal Nurse Practitioner Team at St Thomas's Hospital.
This role will provide expert specialist care to patients living with Lower Gastrointestinal conditions and malignancies, as they navigate our hospital and community services.
The Colorectal Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an experienced colorectal registered nurse with specialist skills including advanced clinical assessment and prescribing, you must be able to demonstrate proven experience of strong leadership and management skills, flexible, dynamic, self-motivated, forward thinking and reliable in addition to being passionate about nursing and patient experience.
The nurse will act as an autonomous practitioner, proactively managing a caseload of patients informing clinical decisions and complex management plans in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients. In conjunction with senior nursing and consultant staff formulate the development of clinical guidance for all aspects of clinical practice within the clinical specialty.
The post holder will line manage, supervise and support junior colleagues and meet educational needs as service demands in line with local and National agendas.
