Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Assisted Conception Unit (ACU) for a full time Private Patient's Pathway Coordinator to join our busy administrative team. This is an exciting and challenging role within the administrative team in which the post holder would have an opportunity to make a direct positive impact on patient experience within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Private Patient Pathway Coordinator will provide outstanding customer service to patients and consultants, helping to ensure a smooth and seamless patient journey. They will work closely with the private patient and clinical teams

About us

The ACU offers a full range of fertility services including IVF/ICSI/Pre-Implantation Genetic Testing and Fertility Preservation. The service offers NHS, Self Funded, and Personalised Private Care.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing Self funded and Personalised Care Private patient pathways and responding to patient queries via phone and email.

The post holder must be IT literate and have the ability to navigate trust IT systems as well as monitor the utilisation of outpatient clinics.

The role requires the ability to liaise with all disciplines of staff i.e. Directorate Managers, Consultants, Nurses and administrative colleagues.

The successful candidate will work well as part of a team, be professional and personable at all times, able to multi-task as well as being able to work under pressure.

Candidates must be flexible to the needs of the service, attend meetings as and when necessary and have excellent communication skills. This is an opportunity join a great team and environment where you are enabled to develop.

The post holder will be required to support and guide private patients along all administrative aspects of their pathway through the hospital.

They will develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical teams, secretarial teams, insurance companies and embassies to ensure the specific needs of their patients are met.

Education

Essential

  • Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Evidence of some formal further training in short courses, experience of a range of admin practices and with significant experience of hospital administration

Desirable

  • Customer services qualification/training
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with relation to Microsoft Office packages, e.g. Word, Outlook and Excel

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of multi-disciplinary staff
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team
  • Ability to deal with difficult service users and challenging situations

Desirable

  • Knowledge of PiMS & Compucare systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology/patient care
