Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for two new full-time neuropsychology research assistants, who are highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic about working with children to join our supportive and dynamic Neurosciences department at the London Evelina. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience or develop existing knowledge, clinical and research skills within a neuroscience setting.

You will contribute to the project "SCN1A Horizons: A natural history study of SCN1A-related epilepsy in the United Kingdom". The aim of this natural history study is to establish a national UK platform for longitudinal data collection on assessment and therapy of up to 400 paediatric and adult patients with a genetic form of epilepsy caused by a variation in the SCN1A gene.

Main duties of the job

The post-holders will be fulfilling an important role within the study team, carrying out detailed neuropsychological assessment of child participants under the supervision of an experienced Paediatric Neuropsychologist. The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the study design and research outputs generated. They will work closely with a team of researchers across the UK, as well as a wider study team of paediatric consultants and clinical psychologists.

  • Minimum 2:1 Honours degree in Psychology
  • Demonstratable experience and desire to work with children in a clinical or research capacity.
  • A comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the wider subject area or subject specialism of child cognitive development

  • An awarded [or recently submitted or near completion] MSc or PhD in subject specialism or equivalent
