Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for Band 7 vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner to join a dynamic forward thinking multi-professional team and be part of a group of highly skilled vascular nurses.

You will be part of a dynamic, innovative team, enabling you to embrace and lead change within this progressive unit. You will have an opportunity to develop new skills and work alongside leading vascular experts.

All roles within the team are currently Monday to Friday, team members are also asked to work weekends on a rostered basis, when the service requires it.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have previous experience in working as a senior vascular nurse within a hospital setting. They must also have an advanced assessment course, and either have, or be willing to undergo non-medical prescribing.

The post member will be expected to cover the needs of the service, which may involve rotation within the CNS team, around the subspecialty teams: aortic, lower limb arterial, venous and the emergency vascular clinic. The post holder will act as an expert clinical resource, facilitating the pathway of pre and post-operative surgery patients. You will be an integral part of the team, assessing patients and formulating a plan of care from admission to discharge. Management and leadership skills, the ability to be self-directed, work autonomously and within a team is essential for this role. There will be participation in both an inpatient and outpatient setting, including some outpatient at network hospital sites.
