Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has become available for motivated and enthusiastic Paediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioners to join our team in Evelina London, we will will also offer the post as a trainee role, where we will offer full training to develop into a qualified Paediatric Advance Nurse Practitioner
We are seeking highly motivated individuals with good communication skills, who will be responsible for providing high quality care to our patients. You will need sound clinical knowledge and examination skills, and have the ability to work independently as well as within the multi-disciplinary team. As the Paediatric Nurse Practitioner you will be part of the clinical response team providing clinical support to acutely unwell patients, coordinating patient flow through the emergency and elective pathways across the Trust. You will be responsible for managingand coordinating the hospital sites on a day to day basis, including serious and major incidents,
The post holder will provide senior support and leadership to patients, visitors and staff.
The service provides a 24:7 site response and coordination role. therefore you will need to demonstrate the ability to manage and lead on untoward and emergency site incidents. This will include managing risk, decision making and activating business continuity plans.

Job responsibilities
- To ensure a reliable and effective out of hours support service, both clinical and managerial, to wards and departments.. This includes giving operational advice and managerial sanction as per Trust protocols.
- To assist in the delivery of the NHS Plan access targets via the bed management service, ensuring that emergency patients are placed appropriately, and that there is minimal cancellation of elective activity.
- Work autonomously across professional, organisational and system boundaries and proactively develop and sustain new partnerships and networks to influence and improve health, outcomes and healthcare delivery systems;
- To receive patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and make an assessment of their health care needs, based on highly-developed nursing knowledge and skills.
- To be responsible for ordering necessary investigations and provide treatment and care both individually, as part of a team, and through referral to other agencies.
- To make differential diagnoses using decision-making and problem-solving skills and have the authority to admit or discharge patients from their caseload, and refer patients to other health care providers as appropriate.
- To provide a consultancy and clinical leadership function as required.
- To undertake a wide range of advanced clinical interventions, which include Advanced Life Support Skills and Independent Nurse Prescribing.
