Job summary
We are looking for enthusiastic pharmacists with demonstrable competencies in hospital pharmacy practice, excellent communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to pharmaceutical care to join our team.
The Acute Specialist rotations allow individual pharmacists to gain skills necessary to develop as a highly specialist clinical pharmacist specifically acute hospital and community settings, by working in a structured environment with the support of senior clinical pharmacists.
Main duties of the job
This programme builds on the skills, knowledge and experience gained at Enhanced Clinical band 7 rotation level and encourages the pharmacist to take an active part in their experiential learning.
The Enhanced Clinical band 7 rotation is aimed at pharmacists with 12-18 months hospital experience in clinical pharmacy who are in the final stages of completing their clinical Diploma.
This post, in the Acute Specialist rotational programme is aimed at pharmacists who have completed their Diploma and are looking to develop their clinical skills is specialist areas. This programme offers the following rotations: ICU, GI surgery, Adult nutrition, Cardiology, Cardiac surgery, Oncology, Renal, Paediatrics, Women's Services and Vascular/Infectious diseases.
The current vacancy is within Adult nutrition service.
About us
As well as delivering ward-based clinical services, the candidates will have the opportunity to undertake Trust-based management courses, team management and organisational responsibilities (i.e. staff planning, rostering and business planning), taking on a leadership role (i.e. project supervision, training, mentoring and appraisal of junior staff members) and generating reports and leading investigations in line with Directorate priorities(i.e. root cause analysis and finance reporting)
