An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HRBP to join Essentia, as part of Guys and St Thomas.
The HR Business Partner is a largely self-managing senior strategic role, supporting Essentia Delivery Group.
The key responsibility is to understand the business strategy of Essentia for which they are responsible and to contribute to the workforce strategy for that area, whilst ensuring its compatibility with Trust-wide workforce plans.

Main duties of the job
The post holder main duties will be to:
- work alongside the Managers/Site Directors / Executive Team and their teams in identifying workforce issues and developing appropriate business focussed HR interventions, and developing the people; capability to deliver their short, medium and long-term business plans;
- seek out and use workforce intelligence, both internal and external, to identify people management requirements within the service area, establishing credibility as an expert in strategic HR within an operational service;
- support and challenge managers in the application of HR policies and practices, providing advice and guidance on complex HR issues in order to minimise risk and financial exposure;
- develop robust human resources relationships with divisions/corporate areas to influence, challenge and support service delivery and people strategies and monitor success;
- develop, recommend and support the implementation of appropriate HR interventions to address the HR issues facing the service area;
- work with the Essentia Workforce and Academy and the wider HR teams to ensure the services provided meet the needs of the service area they support, utilising the expertise of the specialist teams in HR to ensure workforce issues are addressed efficiently and effectively;
- Undertake specific projects to support delivery of the workforce and organisational development strategy, both within the service area and across the Trust as appropriate.

Using this committee as a platform to showcase impact of you and the teams actions and taking a insights/evidence based approach challenge, empower and influence to deliver the people strategy in an ethical, inclusive and value for money way.
Work in partnership with Academy to ensure services are thinking strategically around career planning and risk associated with failure to succession plan and invest in staff development.
Regularly write up proposals that drive strategic ambitions of Essentia group. Write, with recommendations, be research and evidence led. Exceptional written and oral communication skills for a variety of formal and informal purposes; able to articulate a vision with clarity
Working in partnership, set up and lead task and finish groups to address workforce issues and realise strategic ambitions.
Cover for Head of Workforce, Head of Academy and at times senior HR members from central workforce at key meetings.
Attend senior management meetings across all sites/services.
Partake in review of policies, procedures, initiatives in partnership with central workforce services, in order to that support realisation of the Essentia, people and trust strategies.
Line manage a senior HR adviser, driving their potential to be the next HRBP, through development of skills and delegation of stretch opportunities.
