Job summary

Would you like to join an ambitious procurement collaborative organisation to support with the development and implementation of ambitious strategies in the Clinical Digital Solutions category team? This is a crucial role in a small team, focused on delivering category expertise, within the wider LPP organisation, which is entirely dedicated to supporting NHS organisations achieve excellent procurement outcomes.

We are striving to enhance our category strategies through innovation, market knowledge and collaborative relationships with operational and senior level stakeholders. A developed understanding of public sector procurement, experience of end-to-end projects and experience of managing senior stakeholders is essential. In addition, we would like you to have some Digital procurement experience and be familiar with running and leading on complex end to end procurement processes.

We provide consultancy services to external NHS organisations and the role also involves promotion of these services and the delivery element once secured. You will always work as part of a team and be fully supported, but you must be independent and comfortable making decisions and offering advice on procurement process, regulations, and best practise

Main duties of the job

This role is key to driving savings and revenue generation activity, as the category strategies and plans will be instrumental in attracting new customers and maximising uptake to NHS LPP contracts both regionally and nationally. You will provide advice and guidance to external colleagues on our framework and DPS agreements and be able to explain the benefits and access arrangements, whilst always looking for ways to enhance and innovate. You will take a lead on developing new routes to market and for the management of existing agreements and take responsibility for monitoring uptake and usage. This will involve regular communication with NHS external colleagues and suppliers. In addition, the role requires you to work directly with NHS Trust teams on complex digital projects and to be the procurement lead and advisor, through-out the process.

The role will require an ability to work alongside both external operational teams as well as board level management on a regional and national basis to drive collaboration and provide strategic Clinical Digital Solutions procurement expertise.

About us

Please note that as an organisation NHS LPP has been hosted by Guy's & St Thomas' (GSTT) NHS Foundation Trust since 2012 and provides the legal framework and supporting services under which NHS LPP operates. However, NHS LPP is a membership organisation funded and governed by its members and not GSTT. NHS LPP staff are employed by GSTT.

NHS LPP develops and manages collaborative procurement projects on behalf of its members including acute, community and mental health trusts, as well as CCGs. NHS LPP has a number of members outside of London. This role requires the postholder to manage collaborative procurement within the normal NHS membership but also working with other public sector bodies, advising and managing their procurement processes to deliver benefit to the wider public sector. The organisation will continue to develop as a centre of commercial excellence that delivers significant and sustainable cost and service improvements to all stakeholders primarily in the London NHS economy but also outside London.
