Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver three general outpatient clinics for the Neurology service and one clinic for the Neurofibromatosis service. The department of neurology offers a wide range of services to patients with neurological conditions. There are particular clinical interests in neuromuscular diseases, multiple sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, the neurological aspects of intensive care, HIV disease, headache and the neurological complications of general medical disorders. The neurofibromatosis national service focuses on the diagnosis, management and surveillance of patients with uncomplicated and complex NF1 (unusual or potentially life-threatening complications). The post holder will receive appropriate training to participate fully within the multidisciplinary team dealing with complex NF1 patients.
