This is an exciting opportunity to join the South London Clinical Research Network.
The Study Support Service Lead Facilitator forms part of the Clinical Research Network (CRN) South London Study Support Service Team who, as a collective, are responsible for supporting research teams, R&D Departments and Industry Sponsors through the NIHR Study Support Service.
This post is for Maternity cover for 12 months with the potential opportunity to continue as a permanent post. This post is also open to a secondment.
Main duties of the job
The Study Support Service Team will be the first point of contact for researchers and Industry sponsors wanting to conduct NIHR Portfolio studies within south London. Therefore a key element of this role is to ensure effective communication and regular engagement withstakeholders within Partner Organisations across the region. The post holder will also be responsible for contributing to and meeting national and local objectives, in particular those relating to research management, and will require an in-depth knowledge of the research process, ICH-GCP, governance standards and the changes in the research landscape withinthe NHS and the NIHR.
S/he will assist the team to ensure that the CRN South London provides a high quality research service to assist research teams and sponsors with the research process from grant application/ feasibility stage to study close down, including swift approvals and set up, placement and successful delivery of studies which will in turn improve patient care.
The post holder will be required to make informed decisions and solve issues within areas of responsibility, guide others in making informed decisions and ensure that agreed targets are met in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies, proceduresand local objectives.
They should demonstrate exceptional project and research management skills, be effective mentors and have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
