Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Trust Fire Safety Manger to join our Team, to provide the necessary leadership to embed fire safety matters across the Trust.

The post holder will join a dynamic and skilled team which provides fundamental support to clinical and non-clinical teams in understanding and implementing all fire life safety legal and statutory requirements.

We are seeking individuals with a proven track record in handling fire safety across large complex estates, providing professional expertise and technical leadership.

Experience in the correct Standards, Regulations and Guidelines is essential.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the day to day management of Fire Safety Team

Provide clear and quantitative assurance on the progress of the Fire Safety Team to the Head of Fire Safety

Manage fire safety audits and Fire risk assessment programme

Monitor the provision passive fire protection

Review fire policies, documentation

Provide & maintain all records

Ensure legal compliance is being maintained

Planning Quality & Improvement initiatives

Excellent communication skills

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience gained within fire safety management
  • Fire training college course(s) for fire Safety Management certification, or equivalent

Desirable

  • Other training e.g., college courses, evening classes

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in teams and on own initiative and working with limited support, with an understanding of when to seek support
  • Significant experience gained in the process to ensure legal compliance in accordance with the various Acts of Parliament and Local by-laws required under health & safety an appreciation of the intricate language of legal documents etc.
  • Significant experience of project work, working in a hospital setting across a number of areas
  • Demonstrable experience in problem solving in order to assist in developing robust evacuation plans and fire strategies within the workplace

  • Experience of Microsoft Office

Knowledge, skills and ability

  • Significant in-depth knowledge, of the regulatory reform order, Firecode and HTM 05.01, managing healthcare fire safety 05.02 guidance and support of functional provision in healthcare premises
  • Significant experience of development of Healthcare Fire Safety Policies and Procedures.
