Staff Nurse - Surgical Oncology Outpatients

Job summary

1x Band 5 Permanent vacancies.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced band 5 nurse to join the Surgical Oncology Outpatients Team. We cover ENT, Head and Neck, Thoracic, Breast surgery and Gynaecology outpatient clinics. We also have specialist services within this such as our laryngology procedure clinic, tracheostomy care clinic and micro suction clinic providing great developmental opportunities.

We currently have a nurse led wound care clinic which is something we are keen to develop. There is lots of interaction with the multidisciplinary team and working closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse practitioners and surgeons means there is a wide range of exposure and learning opportunities.

We are looking for a versatile and adaptable candidate that can apply themselves to be trained across the specialties of our cancer clinics. Good communication skills are essential within this role.

Main duties of the job

- Focus on supporting with gynaecology procedures

- Managing patient flow and safety in clinical areas

- Wound care and specialised dressings e.g. complex post op head and neck dressings, BAHA dressings

- Prioritising tasks

- Supporting specialist clinics
