Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Dermatology Skin Cancer Services for a full time Patient Pathway Coordinator to join our busy administrative team. This is an exciting and challenging role within the team in which the post holder would have an opportunity to make a direct positive impact on patient's experiences within the Trust.
The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating the pathways of patients, booking outpatient appointments , assisting with the administrative processes as well as sitting in clinics and multi-disciplinary meetings.
The post holder must be IT literate and have the ability to navigate trust IT systems.
The role requires the ability to liaise with all disciplines of staff i.e. Directorate Managers, Consultants, Registrars, Nurses and administrative colleagues.
Candidates must be flexible to the needs of the service, attend meetings as and when necessary and have excellent communication skills. This is an opportunity to join a great team and environment where you are enabled to develop.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a range of administrative support to the multi-disciplinary clinical team. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
- Being the first point of contact for patients via the telephone and emails
- Managing Doctors leave
- To sit in and co-ordinate skin cancer clinics to ensure the clinics run smoothly
- Ensuring cancer targets are being met
- Actioning referrals
- Processing and responding to incoming NHS.net emails.
- Restructuring clinics on request
- Making sure that clinics are cashed up correctly
