Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic CMR Booking Coordinator/Administrator to work with our multidisciplinary team in the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) unit/Diagnostic Centre at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be responsible for the management of the CMR and Diagnostic Centre receptions. To schedule CMR appointments for both NHS and private patients, in accordance with the waiting time guidelines, and the provision of administrative support to the CMR unit/Diagnostic Centre. As the first point of contact with the public they will represent the department in a professional manner and work efficiently in a busy and demanding environment.

About us

You will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary team in our brand-new Diagnostic Centre and have a flexible approach to the position with responsibility for managing your own workload in collaboration with the clinical and research teams. Training will be provided where necessary.

Essential

  • Previous experience as a receptionist, administrator, or alternative customer service role.
  • Experience with electronic booking systems.

Desirable

  • Previous NHS reception/ administrative experience.
  • Experience of using a Hospital Information System.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good level of language/literacy demonstrated through effective written and verbal skills - GCSE or equivalent.
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or significant experience with Microsoft Office computer packages.

Desirable

  • Experience with database software.
  • Level 2 (or higher) qualification in Customer Service.

  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to efficiently and accurately complete routine and repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities within a fluctuating and demanding workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
