Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated leader who can bring energy and focus to this exciting General Manager (GM) role. The GM is responsible for operational management of a range of surgical, minimally-invasive, outpatient and diagnostic imaging services, and a suite of cath labs, with a combined annual budget of c.£100m, and a workforce of over 600 staff.
Main duties of the job
The individual will work in a close-knit and well-regarded team with two Deputy General Managers, Clinical Directors, Heads of Nursing and Clinical Leads. The GM also line manages professional leads for physiology, perfusion and ultrasonic angiology service, and is responsible for a large administrative function. The GM will be expected to provide strong leadership to enable the services to respond effectively to the challenges it will face whilst providing efficient clinical services and sustained improvements
They will be responsible for operational delivery and improvement of all clinical services within these areas and a complex and challenging recovery agenda - both financial and operational. At GSTT we are due to go live with a new electronic health record system (EPIC), in October 2023. Whilst the system will be in place once the GM starts, the role will undoubtedly require supporting teams to settle in to the new system, and oversee any issues that may arise post Go-Live.
