Job summary
To be a Catholic Chaplain (mainly patient-facing) for 3 days a week plus on-calls in the department of spiritual health care.
To work with and manage an assistant Catholic chaplain, bank Catholic chaplains, and Catholic volunteers across all hospitals within the trust and in the community.
The department provides for the pastoral, spiritual, ethical and religious needs of patients, staff and visitors and, where applicable, students within the Trust.
Under authority of the Team Leader, to offer chaplaincy staff support service, and to assist with the whole team incorporating chaplains, multi-faith chaplains, bank chaplains, honorary chaplains, religious visitors, students and chaplaincy volunteers.
To be the religious lead for Catholic chaplaincy in the trust. To be a generic chaplain for the Trust when required.

0.6 wte permanent, with on-calls and possibile bank work.
We are offering an exciting and energising chaplaincy post, working as an experienced and fully trained Catholic healthcare chaplain in a large, diverse multi-faith/belief chaplaincy team. The post is based at the Guy's and St Thomas' and the Evelina London sites but also community sites in Lambeth and Southwark and management of Catholic cover at the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, and SLA's (currently including one private hospital site and staff chaplaincy for the London Fire Brigade mainly within the M25).
You will be an experienced healthcare chaplain with a PgCert in healthcare chaplaincy, able to specialise in a clinical area of the trust, responsible for pastoral, spiritual and cultural care (including religious care) of patients, carers and staff. You will responsible for Catholic chaplaincy volunteers and Catholic team chaplains, and will line manage assistant chaplains from other faith and belief communities. You will mentor trainee chaplains. You will share in generic chaplaincy for all the trust & SLAs, you will be a experienced trauma & disaster chaplain. You will share in a continuum of care for patients which includes spiritual care.
