Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 8a Lead EP Cardiac Physiologist to lead and to work as part of our Cardiac Physiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at and lead in a hospital with access to much of the latest technology.

The post holder will have direct responsibility for provision Electrophysiology services in the catheter labs at Harefield and will report to the Principal Cardiac Physiologist.

You will be required to hold:

-BSc Cardiac Physiology/Healthcare Science (Cardiology) or equivalent

- Postgraduate qualification in EP such as BHRS/IBHRE/EHRS accreditation

- AHCS / RCCP or HCPC registration

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an expert in Electrophysiology (EP) and will be responsible for leading the EP service at Harefield Hospital. The post holder will work closely with the Cardiology Consultants to provide a safe and high standard of care for patients undergoing EP procedures.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring efficient service delivery of EP procedures at Harefield Hospital. The post holder will also be responsible for introducing service developments and implementation of new technologies within the EP labs.

The post holder will play a major role in the continuous professional development of the EP team and overall performance of all staff in the Cardiac Physiology Department.

Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals became part of Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation trust in February 2021. There is a vision of creating a brand new centre of excellence which will be the global leader in the research into and treatment of heart and lung disease in patients form pre birth to old age.

Last year at Harefield Hospital we performed over 600 EP procedures, capturing a broad range of cases from SVT through to complex VT. We have access to multiple mapping systems as well as early adoption of new technologies such as Pulse Field Ablation. You will get to work with a progressive consultant body in a supportive and constructive environment, whilst also working with group of keen cardiac physiologists whose experience ranges <1year to >10years of EP!
