Job summary
The Sleep Disorders service is excited to offer the opportunity of a Band 4 full time Medical Secretary to start ASAP.
Successful applicants will join a friendly and highly supportive team of 4 secretaries providing administrative support to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
If you are a dedicated, highly motivated individual with an ambition to support colleagues to deliver the best towards patient care, we can support you in achieving this.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work closely with the clerical and consultant team to ensure the delivery of a seamless service for our patients.
You will be be proficient in using IT packages and systems, and will have excellent organisation and typing skills and will be able to work efficiently, both within a team and independently.
Previous NHS and secretarial experience is desired, but not essential.

The Sleep Disorders Centre is based at Nuffield House on the Guys Hospital site and is one of the busiest sleep centres in the UK providing a complete range of sleep evaluations, from simple diagnostics to complex sleep studies.
Our 10-bed facility and home testing facilities allow us to evaluate patients with any type of sleep disorder including sleep and seizure disorders and follow up outpatient appointments that take place at the Nuffield Centre
We have a strong multidisciplinary team made up of different health professionals, including:
- Sleep consultants
- Sleep psychologists
- Sleep technicians
- Sleep pharmacists
We work closely with other services including neurology, ear, nose and throat (ENT) and respiratory.

- AMSPAR Medical Secretary Diploma or equivalent experience
