Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join the Rheumatology team at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and resilient registered nurse with a minimum of 6 months post registration experience with an interest in working with patients in our day case infusion suite .
Applicants should be competent in cannulation, venepuncture and IV administration or are working towards these competencies.
Experience in the administration of biologics and some chemotherapy drugs would be desirable but is not essential as this can be taught in house and through our monthly nursing team team education sessions, as well as through university courses as required.
The successful candidate is required to work well as part of our small dedicated team and independently, continually striving to improve and deliver a high standard of care to our large cohort of patients.
The Infusion Suite is at Guys Hospital and runs Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing high quality care to our group of patients attending the Day Case Unit, including administering Intravenous infusions, running clinics for patients attending for injections and the daily running of the Day Case Unit.
This will include working closely with the differing specialties that access the Day Case Unit.
