Job summary
We are one of the largest kidney transplantation centres in the UK. The role of the Recipient Transplant Co-ordinator is to support and guide the recipient through their transplant pathway.
Transplant co-ordination begins when a patient is referred to a transplant unit for consideration of an organ transplant and follows the recipient though the whole process into long term post transplant follow up care.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the management of a case-load of patients undergoing assessment for listing on the deceased donor transplantwaiting list and will be expected to participate in a 24 hours on-call service accepting kidney and pancreas offers. They will act as a lead specialist and will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service, providing specialist advice, education and support to health care professionals and patients.
To apply for this post, you must be registered with the NMC and hold a post-registration renal and mentorship qualification. You will need to demonstrate that you can work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team and have several years' experience working in a variety of renal settings. Experience of recipient transplant work up essential.
