Main duties of the job
About us
The Trust plays a leading role in the provision of education and training for medical staff, and the supportive training environment created means there are many opportunities to take part in teaching sessions, training days, simulation sessions, grand rounds, and clinical governance activity.
In addition, there is a weekly departmental Acute Medicine teaching programme which all junior medical staff are encouraged to attend, with protected time. There is also 'Afternoon Report' where interesting medical cases are discussed across SE London.
All consultants in the department have a keen interest in education and training at both postgraduate and undergraduate level, with time allocated for training and supervision, and several hold designated internal and external educational leadership roles.
There will be opportunities to innovate and take part in audit, quality improvement and service development projects.
The successful candidate will have the same access to teaching & study leave as our substantive trainees.
