The postholder will have demonstrable advanced skills and competencies to influence the safeguarding of adults at risk of abuse and harm.

The Named Practitioner for Safeguarding Adults is responsible for leading on all issues relating to safeguarding adults across the organisation, providing leadership and be a source of expertise for all staff across the Trust,

Line management responsibly for the Safeguarding Specialists (in area Children/Adult) ensuring support, supervision and personal development.

Working in partnership with the Safeguarding Childrens Named Practitioner ensure the organisation provides an effective service to safeguard all vulnerable patients and families within our care.

Promote the early identification and management of safeguarding concerns by leadership, expert advice, research, and education. They will initiate and add to research evidence in the field of safeguarding to ensure that evidence-based practice is inherent in all aspects of care.

Main duties of the job

Be a highly visible senior manager , providing specialist knowledge advice and clinical expertise to staff in the Trust in all aspects of safeguarding adults.

Act as the Prevent lead for the Trust - maintain competencies through national and local networks, ensure Trust training is appropriate and up to date, act as an expert in the area to support staff with advice, support referrals when required.

As a senior manager within South Central Ambulance Service ( SCAS ) this role will be required to provide leadership to the safeguarding team to ensure the effective provision of the service they provide and to champion change in the organisation.

To ensure that safeguarding staff are motivated and express a positive attitude towards the organisation , addressing any issues and concerns that may inhibit staff from achieving both their personal and organisational goals.
