Job summary
This role will assist the Senior Management Information Analyst in working with senior managers / stakeholders to understand information requirements and handling difficult queries.
The role will gather and translate business needs into clear analytics/reporting requirements, providing an important activity that has been missing.
This will bridge the divide between the customer expectations and the BI solutions developed to meet these. The role will be assigned to a dedicated area of SCAS and will engage with stakeholders to build strong working relationships and help improve two way communications.
Furthermore, this role will undertake advanced analytical, modelling and forecasting services. This role will help understand / predict future service requirements so that services can be aligned to meet those needs not just within SCAS but for the Health economy as well. This role will work proactively with other SCAS colleagues to encourage effective use of information including working on joint analytical activities and supporting the information literacy training.
Main duties of the job
- Provide a direct link to the business for the development, production and promotion of information solutions and business analysis.
- Lead on the gathering of service requirements for the Information Department providing expert advice and guidance on information matters and completes business analysis work required for service redevelopments and corporate projects.
- Support the business to define their information requirements, including specifications for BI dashboards and other relevant solutions.
- Support the BI programme including working with commissioners and external agencies to define integrated BI solutions and delivering training and communication across the divisions
- Support and maintain data management strategy
- Oversee the implementation of the security solution for the BI solution, to ensure in line with the business needs
- In conjunction with the Senior Management Information Analyst , develop and deliver training workshops and communication packages to make sure that all divisions are kept informed of the BI development and the dashboards that are available
- Input to all Trust wide Information policies

Service Analysis and Support
- Elicit information and user requirements through a range of techniques including: academic research, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, task and workflow analysis.
- Analyse and validate highly complex quantitative and qualitative information from a range of internal and external sources, to enable decision-making, and to provide recommendations, expert advice and solutions for the enduser.
- Specify functional and user requirements that meet the needs of the project owners to enable improvements in patient outcomes, quality, financial or service performance.
- Analyse current ways of working, processes and service approaches to develop supply chain improvement proposals.
- Baseline current service and system performance and set up benefit measurements and tracking processes to ensure that targeted benefits are delivered.
- Research and benchmark best practice within and outside the health sector, and apply it to existing services and processes.

- Support the development of clinical dashboards, and other relevant solutions which provide meaningful information to clinicians.
- Support the development of business intelligence tools which provide a single consistent and comprehensive view of SCASs.
