We have a brand new post for an 18 month fixed term or secondment opportunity and are looking for someone who has a passion for leadership and excellent interpersonal skills. The position of Senior Education Manager - Workforce Innovation, at South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) NHS Trust could be your next career move.

It's an exciting time in SCAS education. We are seeking to innovate and add to the digitalisation portfolio, some of which is being built from the ground up. The right candidate will be able to lead and inspire the education teams to drive this work forward. Several pipelines are to be developed, such as programmes for internationally educated paramedics and ambulance nurses.

Change management or quality improvement experience is essential. You'll need to be an enthusiastic individual with proven experience of collaborating, negotiating and motivating, while ensuring high quality patient care is the ultimate outcome.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will support the Head of Education. Responsibilities will be to lead the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and the Internationally Educated Paramedic (IEP) teams. Other responsibilities include workforce innovations such as the education and recruitment of ambulance nurses and return to practice for paramedics.

The education we deliver at SCAS can take a variety of forms, from classroom based theory and skills sessions to technology enhanced learning and clinical simulation. Alongside the Head of Education, you will play a pivotal role in introducing the digitalisation of education to include the introduction of an innovative online platform to make education more accessible to our workforce. We are also introducing virtual teaching where applicable, and you would be at the forefront of this innovation.

We offer an extensive range of education activities. These include apprenticeships, ambulance nursing, emergency care assistants and paramedic programmes for new and existing staff as well as internationally educated paramedics.

  • Post graduate teaching qualification / vocational training qualification (appropriate to the profession, or equivalent experience)
  • Registration of the professional body appropriate to the role - HCPC / NMC

  • Prince2 / Lean Six Sigma

Knowledge

  • Post qualification experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating experience in a wide range of emergency and non-emergency situations
