Job summary
We are seeking a registered paramedic or nurse to join the education team as clinical education manager in one of our Education Centres across South Central Ambulance Service (Newbury, Whiteley or Bicester). This is a Secondment until 31st March 2024 and would suit someone who keen to develop education and leadership skills.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate collaborative relationships and outstanding communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal). Suitable candidates must work well under pressure remaining calm, focused and approachable.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join a friendly team. Primary focus being the planning for next years' statutory and mandatory education. This is as part of the innovation to establish virtual teaching methods in this area.
You will work with the Technologies Enhanced Learning (TEL) team and other education team members. You could be at the forefront of this innovation.

We are implementing virtual teaching via Microsoft teams, and you will be integral this. Key working relationships will be with subject matter experts, education managers and the technology enhanced learning team. You will be supported to create material and tools that can be used to deliver teaching over a virtual platform. Prior experience of developing these tools is not essential as we will offer the support needed to develop the skills required.
To be part of this innovative project, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and dedicated to maintain high standards of education to meet the needs of our patients.

- Degree level education or equivalent experience gained through work
- Registration of the professional body appropriate to the role - HCPC or NMC (post NQP registration including preceptorship with demonstrable experience)
Desirable
- Level 3 or above qualifications in educational teaching or equivalent experienced gained through work
- ALS instructor or IP status
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, commanding the confidence of managers, staff and other health care professionals and by developing a strong ethos of team working.
- Demonstrable experience of developing, supporting and motivating individuals and a team in a similar working environment.
- Experience of peer mentoring, demonstrating a good understanding of the mechanisms used to identify training needs in the individual.
- Significant clinical experience as a Paramedic/Nurse or allied Health Professional.
- Able to evidence Continued Personal Professional Development and commitment to personal quality standards and personal development.

- Good knowledge of the professional clinical guidelines and codes of conduct appropriate to this role and of the policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols relevant to this post.
- Working knowledge of Clinical Audit relevant to this post.
- Experience of using a variety of IT software including Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and windows XP
