Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for staff looking to progress their career and become a Clinical Team Educator in SCAS at Hightown Resource Centre.

This advert is recruiting for one substantive CTE post.

The Clinical Team Educator role is a pivotal position in the development of the area's existing operational staff of all grades and visiting students, being responsible for their clinical supervision and professional development while liaising and working alongside the Education Department. You will become a key player as part of the area management team that will help to demonstrate and champion the behaviours linked to the key values of: Team Working, Caring, Innovation and Professionalism.

Main duties of the job

You must be qualified as a HCPC Registered Paramedic, working at Band 6 level, or NMC Nurse.

You must be a team player, accept responsibility and be a confident decision maker. You must be passionate in the development of newly trained staff and the maintenance of excellent standards. You will possess good interpersonal and communications skills. You will need to be competent in basic IT and capable of logical thinking, practical problem-solving, objective assessment skills and report writing. You must also be able to motivate and support others.

  • Professional Registration qualification: HCPC or NMC. (2 years post registration experience including preceptorship training and Newly Qualified Paramedic (NQP) period)
  • IHCD or FutureQuals Emergency Response Driving qualification
  • Completion of a HEI accredited mentorship module (QCF Level 5/6) or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Relevant Human Resources courses
  • Degree Level or working toward (within three years)
  • Associated teaching/mentoring qualification e.g. IHCD Instructors, PTLLS, DETLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE, etc.
  • A recognised Management Qualification e.g. ILM etc
  • o A recognised Training / Assessing qualification e.g. Award in Education and Training, Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement etc

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Significant operational experience as a qualified Paramedic and/or Nurse. You must have completion of the 2 year NQP programme requirements if your first entry on to the HCPC registered was post September 2016
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, commanding the confidence of managers, staff and other health care professionals and by developing a strong ethos of team working
  • Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of all clinical and technical procedures appropriate to this role
  • Good knowledge of the professional clinical guidelines and codes of conduct appropriate to this role and of the policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols relevant to this post
  • Experience of peer mentoring
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of the mechanisms used to identify training needs in the individual
  • Good working knowledge of the current legislation relevant to this post
