Job summary
The South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Education Facilitator to join the Trust's nationally acknowledged and highly innovative simulation education team.
The successful candidate will support the Education Team Manager for Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) at the Newbury Education and Recruitment Centre and on the Mobile Simulation Vehicle (Simbulance) for providing and delivering high-quality clinical and non-clinical education and CPD training to staff by facilitating simulated scenarios, providing constructive debriefing and develop technologies to enhance the learning experience for delegates and learners.
The Trust has extensive education programmes and CPD training ranging from PTS education, clinical programmes and Simulation training planned for existing and new staff, and we are seeking an education facilitator to support and develop these programmes.
As an education facilitator, you will be part of the team as well as have responsibility for an individual portfolio of clinical simulation and to provide subject matter expertise as allocated by the Education Team Manager.

Main duties of the job
The Education Facilitator Simulation, is an ambassador of the South Central Ambulance Service in his/her designated area. The postholder will:
Responsibility in providing delivery in the Specialist Education Team [Clinical Simulation, PTS Education, Enhanced Technologies & Resuscitation] across the full spectrum of education, personnel and directorates
Supporting and developing Clinical and non-clinical Simulation training (as identified by the Education Team Manager)
Foster partnership-working across the Trust and at national level as identified by the Education Team Managerto develop shared clinical and non-clinical education and clinical simulation and enhance patient experience through the 'shared patient journey'

To support the Education Team Manager in the delivery of the Trusts strategic plan, by ensuring the provision of efficient, consistent delivery of clinical and nonclinical training .
To undertake teaching and facilitating across a broad range of clinical and nonclinical education and clinical simulation trust wide, demonstrating and contributing to clinical excellence, reporting to the Education Team Manager in the delivery of clinical and non-clinical staff training within a specific area. This will also include supporting North and South Education Centres in Clinical Simulation Education / Activities/ Training
To deliver all education training/courses, as directed by the Education Team Managerat the SCAS Education Centres, the Enhanced Simulation Centre (ESC), Newbury and on the Mobile Simulation Vehicle (Simbulance)
To deliver effective training of practices and procedures related to clinical skills and communicating effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
To provide specialist education utilising simulated scenarios and skills training for non-clinical and clinical Simulation within and outside the Trust as appropriate.
To provide clinical Simulation of simulated scenarios and skills training for PTS Education, Technologies and operational remedial within and outside the Trust as appropriate.
Working with the Education Team Managerin the fostering of a working and learning environment which is conducive to learning and development. To promote a positive learning environment and an analytical approach to service provision.
To plan, develop and deliver clinical and non-clinical education, meeting agreed targets, including the development of teaching skills reflecting current evidence and policy based practices.
To take part in the development of a clinical simulation faculty
To ensure that all individual educational performance objectives, set by the Education Team Manager are successfully achieved within the agreed timescales, demonstrating consistent high standards of work at all times
To work with all educational managers and education facilitators in the delivery of all aspects of educational and simulation delivery
To support the Education Team Managerin ensuring that all Trust Managers are kept fully informed of all educational and development issues relevant to this post by providing specific training and support as directed
To ensure that all current Trust policies and procedures, applicable to the Education Centres, are delivered throughout any educational delivery
To ensure the accuracy, validity and security of all staff records, including all information related to assessment, education and training programmes, created or used by the post holder within SCAS Trust, and to ensure that information generated meets and maintains all necessary professional accreditation standards, in line with direction from the Education Team Manager
To maintain strong working relationships with all directorates of the Trust, in particular Operations and Communications, ensuring that the Education, Training and Development department maintains active, open and robust lines of communication between the departments of the Trust, to ensure high standards of performance, the maximisation of attendance and the efficient use of resources

- BSc level qualification or equivalent experienced gained through work
- Experience of Simulation in the Pre-Hospital/Ambulance service environment or experience of a Multi-Professional Simulation Centre (hospital, skills centre, training centre)
Desirable
- Teaching qualification
- Registration of the professional body appropriate to the role - HCPC or NMC
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Significant ambulance operational experience or a clinical setting
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire others, commanding the confidence of managers, staff and other health care professionals and by developing a strong ethos of team working.
- Demonstrates an excellent working knowledge of all ambulance technical procedures appropriate to this role
- Good knowledge of the professional guidelines and codes of conduct appropriate to this role and of the policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols relevant to this post.
- Experience of peer mentoring, demonstrating a good understanding of the mechanisms used to identify training needs in the individual.
