Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse - West Ward (Haematology)

The Haematology department is looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and motivated nurse to join our team as a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse

You will work as a skilled practitioner and be responsible for delivering patient-focused programmes of care that address the complex and changing health and well-being needs of patients with haematology-related conditions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high quality essential care to patients with haematology conditions in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner.

The post holder will:

  • Provide high-quality clinical practice. Be proactive in clinical decision making, underpinned by theoretical and practical knowledge and be able to demonstrate improved patient care outcomes.
  • Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.
  • Support change, monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research, and education. To promote and demonstrate best practice by integrating evidence into practice.
  • Undertake holistic assessment of patients and carers' needs. This will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating care delivery in response to changing healthcare needs.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge in relation to patterns of Haematology service, markers of condition progression and the range of treatment available at each stage of the condition.
