**A Band 6 developmental role will be considered with the applicant working towards Band 7 in line with the ACCEND pathway.**

This is a part-time post for 30 hours per week.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Urological cancer nurse specialist team for a dynamic clinical nurse specialist.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and passionate senior nurses who are compassionate, caring and can work well with a wide range of professional colleagues looking after complex patients with an cancer diagnosis.

We work at both the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Townlands Hospital and Bracknell Healthspace.

Main duties of the job

Working in a small and friendly team within a larger CNS service, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of other dedicated and highly skilled healthcare professionals to care for patients and their families, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice and actively improving the way we work.

You will provide autonomous nurse-led services alongside the rest of the team.

Examples of duties are:

  • Offering support and signposting for patients at diagnosis and onwards.
  • Providing symptom advice and support for a group of patients with complex and often fast changing needs.
  • Holistic Needs Assessment.
  • Multidisciplinary team working.
  • Telephone assessment and follow-up.

  • Registered Nurse (Pt 1/12)
  • Educated to a minimum of 1st degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Qualification in specialist area of urological cancer and/or oncology when available

Desirable

  • Advanced communication skills qualification
