Band 5 Staff Nurse (Sexual Health)

This is a fixed-term post for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated nurse to join the team at Florey clinic as a band 5 staff nurse for a fixed-term contract of a year.

The Florey provides an integrated sexual health service to Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire. The level 3 service is fast-paced and this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and friendly environment.

The post holder will work as an essential part of the team within Florey clinic, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients accessing sexual health services.This may include: carrying out asymptomatic screening, providing care for patients with symptoms, performing genital examinations, providing vaccines and PrEP, providing treatments for patients diagnosed with STIs, safeguarding and health promotion activities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing planned nursing care, and for the maintenance of associated records for patients in the given clinical area.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, compassionate and non-judgemental. They will be passionate about providing excellent standards of individualised patient care and will work as an effective team member. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive topics with care and compassion.
