Are you a dynamic individual with extensive paediatric ward experience?
We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team and are looking to employ a skilled, forward-thinking, dynamic individual as a senior paediatric physiotherapist.
The post is suitable for an experienced physiotherapist with past leadership and service development experience in a paediatric inpatient setting.
You will work with children and young people with a variety of conditions across the general paediatric wards at RBH, with some outpatient work at the paediatric department at Dingley Child Development Centre. This role will involve working alongside consultants within a clinic setting and as part of the MDT. Experience of Cystic Fibrosis would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have extensive NHS paediatric experience (including paediatric respiratory and inpatient rehabilitation) and possess excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment and teaching skills.
Regular appraisal, supervision and support will be given. You will lead the implementation of new initiatives to continue to develop the service in line with best practice and clinical guidelines whilst working closely alongside senior colleagues.
Duties include:
- To be a physiotherapy clinical expert in the management of paediatric patients (inpatients and acute outpatients) for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT).
- To be responsible for the operational management and clinical leadership of thephysiotherapy team in conjunction with the Paediatric Physiotherapy Team Leadand Therapies Management.
- To use expert physiotherapy knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning skills toprovide specialist support and advice to the physiotherapy team and otherhealthcare staff, and to manage own caseload of patients with highly complexconditions as an autonomous practitioner.
- To ensure a high quality, effective physiotherapy service.
- To be a member of the Physiotherapy Department Management team, contributingto planning and policy development in the Inter- professional team and department.
- To deputise for the Paediatric Physiotherapy Team Lead as required.
