Clinical Nurse Specialist (Fracture Liaison Service)
The closing date is 30 November 2025
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) for a 12 month band 7 fixed term role. The FLS works with mature patients sustaining a fragility fracture to identify those with Osteoporosis/ at a high risk of further fractures and placing these patients on a personalised treatment pathway. Fragility fractures account for a significant number of hospital beds and NHS budget each year and the role of the FLS is crucial in reducing these figures and helping our patients to enjoy quality of life well into maturity. We work with many specialist teams including Rheumatology, T&O Orthogeriatrics, Radiology and the wards as well as GP teams. The successful candidate will work closely with patients and specialist services within the Berks area to promote bone health and Osteoporosis knowledge. We are looking for a highly motivated colleague who enjoys working as part of a small but well-established team. A passion for working in preventative care and supporting patients to remain active as they mature is a must. Experience working in T&O, bone health or Rheumatology would be desirable. The role requires covering patient clinics, telephone calls to provide results and written communication. Presentations and involvement in Thames Valley group work would also be required. In exchange, we can offer flexible working, the ability to work remotely once competent and a supportive team.
