Job summary
The Integration Developer is a key member of the Digital Data &Technology (DDaT) team, adding value for our patients through improvingand developing digital services across the Trust and wider health and caresystem.
You will support the Integration Team in ensuring the Trust can safelyintegrate and make use of shared information and services, regardless ofthe systems in use, and who supplied them.
You will design, develop, implement and test secure interfaces using anintegration engine applying best practice and coding standards to connectand facilitate the sharing of data between systems and applications alignedwith the Trust's vision and ensure that solutions can be maintained andupdated by the wider DDaT integration team.Ensure that services are supported with consistent, professional and valueadding expertise through digital interoperability and ensure the Trust gainsthe maximum benefits as a result.
You will work with REST API's* and ensure all integrated solutions adhereto HL7 / FHIR* standards.
Main duties of the job
Deputising for the Integration Development Lead you will lead on strategic technical decisions in the absence of the Integration Architect, ensuring continuity in architectural direction.
Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the organization's integration strategy, ensuring alignment with national NHS digital health initiatives. Collaborate with infrastructure and clinical systems teams to enhance system interoperability and improve patient care.
Design, document, and deploy integration solutions based on Trust tactical and strategic needs. This includes enhancing existing solutions and developing new proposals to meet operational and clinical requirements.
Collaborate closely with technical subject matter experts to ensure the digital infrastructure is extensible and reduces complexity wherever possible, optimizing long-term integration strategies.
Actively participate in senior management meetings, decision-making forums, and represent the integration team at formal committees, executive-level meetings, and technical governance boards.

Ensure that all integration solutions comply with NHS Digital, information governance, and data security standards, particularly around patient data protection.
Develop protocols for secure data exchange between systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulatory frameworks.
Develop clear and concise technical specifications, integration roadmaps, and solution designs. Tailor documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure comprehension across varying levels of seniority.
Lead the development and review of business cases for new integrations, evaluating potential costs, benefits, and risks. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams to present these cases to senior decision-makers.
Act as the primary point of contact and communication for external vendors and suppliers during integration incidents and escalations.
