Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated registered nurse or operating department practitioner to join our highly graded urology theatre team at Royal Berkshire Hospital.
The team was one of the first to pioneer the robotic assisted surgery in 2007 and was awarded a Royal Berkshire Staff Excellence Award in 2020 for operational excellence.
The post is suitable for both newly qualified or experienced practitioners. You would work as part of a highly skilled team.
Candidates interested in developing a career in theatres will have the opportunity to develop a range of relevant skills as we have a dedicated education team in place with a comprehensive education strategy which underpins the development of all grades of staff within theatres, facilitating career development and progression.

In Theatres we provide a supportive learning environment which includes preceptorship, supernumerary status while achieving competencies with further support in the initial phase of working solo.
We offer an in-house perioperative course, support with revalidation, leadership and career development.
Experienced staff are encouraged and supported to further develop using the educational and experiential learning opportunities available depending on your chosen career path.
