Band 4 MDT Coordinator
This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated MDT Coordinator to join our existing team within the Cancer Pathways department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
You will need to be a team player, have excellent organisational and communication skills and an eye for detail.
An excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, experience using a hospital database, knowledge of cancer terminology and the national cancer targets would be advantageous.
Duties will include coordinating the MDT meetings and organising all the documentation needed for these.
You will need to track patients through their cancer pathway in line with the cancer waiting time targets, along with providing accurate data entry onto an external database.
You will need to be able to effectively communicate with clinical and clerical staff across all internal and external organisations.
Main duties of the job
Duties include:
Ensuring that the patient cancer pathways are monitored in accordance with the government national cancer waiting times targets. Actively escalating any patient that is at risk of breaching and having an up to date knowledge of all the patients on the 2ww pathway.
Coordinating and organising the activities of the Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT) and team meetings. This will include liaising with all the departments that are involved in providing care and core services to cancer patients.
Responsible for ensuring the root cause analysis are completed. This will include liaising with lead clinicians in line and to support a smooth pathway for any patients breaching 104 days and discussed at a Harm Review Meeting.
The post holder is expected to work in collaboration with all members of the multi-professional team and departments providing the relevant cancer services. This also includes working with senior management and external organisations. The role does not involve direct patient care or contact.
