Experienced Band 5 Obstetrics and Gynaecology Scrub Practitioner

This is a Fixed Term post for 12 months (Maternity Leave Cover).

This is an exciting opportunity for band 5 theatre practitioner to join our motivated and dynamic team at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, to cover maternity leave for 12 months.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatre unit consists of two obstetric and two gynaecology theatres, part of a busy twenty operating theatres department.

We deliver excellent patient experience and quality of care with patient safety at the forefront of our practice.

We are looking for enthusiastic team members who aspire to learn and develop.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high quality, safe and compassionate care to women undergoing obstetrics and gynaecology procedures, including elective and emergency cases.

Although the position is based in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will have the opportunity to work across other specialities ,e.g. T&O, urology, general surgeries and ENT.

Application welcome from NMC registered nurses or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioners (ODP).

You should have substantial scrub experience, ideally in obstetrics and gynaecology cases.

Main duties of the job

To circulate and scrub in all Obstetrics and Gynaecology cases.

Also required to support the positioning of patients whilst in theatres.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Theatre Practitioners who aspire to learn and develop to join our inspirational team.

Successful candidates will demonstrate high standards of practice with excellent communication, clinical and decision making skills.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to translate the trust's vision of high quality care and excellent patient experience into action.
