Job summary
This post offers an excellent opportunity for an ST5 or more senior trainee to consolidate advanced skills in oncology. There will be opportunities to gain colposcopy qualification (BSCCP/RCOG SITM), Vulval disease SITM or therapeutic hysteroscopy SITM.
The candidate will work closely with Miss Vijayanand, and attend a Thursday all day operating list and assist. The candidate will take an active role in pre and post-operative management of patients. They will have opportunities to learn minimal access techniques in gynecological oncology.
The candidate will be expected to run independent and consultant led outpatient Gynaecology oncology clinics. To attend and present at weekly Gynaecology MDT meetings (alt Mon) alternating with vulval clinics, colposcopy MDT (Every Fri) and Vulval MDT.
The successful candidate will work closely with other members of Miss Vijayanand team from consultants, staff specialist and CNST nurses.
Main duties of the job
Research and Development
o Access to departmental datasets and clinical supervisors for those wishing to submit research proposals for ethics approval.
o Encouraged to present at regional or national Gynaecology oncology meetings.
The post holder will be expected to ensure they keep up to date with hospital mandatory training and teaching, which will include obstetrics training in CTG/PROMPT. They will have to give six weeks of leave notice.
