Clinical Pharmacist (Cancer Services)

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our expanding Cancer Services Team due to promotion of the existing post holder. You will work in close collaboration with the Berkshire Cancer Centre and Clinical Haematology Team to deliver excellent care for our cancer patients, and work closely with the pharmacy technical team in managing the preparation and supply of chemotherapy to our patients.

The successful candidate will have a special interest in Cancer Services. They should demonstrate a combination of clinical and technical skills which will be developed in order that they can deputise for the Accountable Pharmacist Aseptic Services as well as the Lead Clinical Oncology Pharmacists and and Lead Clinical Haematology Pharmacists within Cancer Services . You will be working in partnership with other band 7 clinical oncology pharmacists in your role, and will help to train and develop rotational band 6 pharmacists.

Main duties of the job

You must be a highly motivated pharmacist who is enthusiastic about providing excellent patient-focused care within a multidisciplinary team. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and significant experience in hospital pharmacy.

This position will require you to be organised, to develop yourself and the work of your team, and must be able to work accurately under pressure. Having previous experience of caring for people with cancer would be an advantage but is not essential and full training will be offered within our supportive team.

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or UK recognised equivalent (from an accredited University registered with GPhC).
  • Post graduate Clinical Certificate or equivalent relevant experience
