Job summary

Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is an 16 bedded Level 2 Unit within the Thames Valley Neonatal Network. Comprising of; 2 Intensive Care 4 High Dependency and 10 Special Care cots. We provide highly skilled neonatal care.

Additionally, we provide a 6 bedded Transitional care unit within the post-natal ward primarily run by the neonatal nursing team (nursery nurse) with a TC Lead and consultant support.

We are a large and very friendly team which prides itself on offering excellent care to the vulnerable babies on the unit.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, innovative and highly skilled Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team. Within the Neonatal team we provide expert clinical care whilst optimizing patient outcomes and contributing to a positive family experience. ANNP's currently work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to promote skilled excellence in neonatal care, training and education, unit initiatives, supporting the medical rota, developing staff and play a key part in service development.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated clinical expert with evidence of competence in extended skills. They need to have a passion for high quality patient care within neonates, well-developed communication & relationship skills and a positive, mature and professional attitude. Furthermore the successful individual must be committed to the trust values and support our strategic objectives.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a 1st level registered practitioner. They will have excellent communication skills, and be able to liaise with patients and their families in planning their healthcare needs. They will be expected to provide evidence of their ongoing continuing professional development.
