We are excited to offer this 9 month secondment opportunity to lead our team as Ward Manager for Sidmouth Ward.

Sidmouth Ward is a 28 bedded acute gastroenterology medical unit recognised for the excellent care the team provides for patients. The unit is ward accredited and embeds the trusts core values of Compassion, Aspiration, Resourcefulness and Excellence within it's ethos.

We are looking for an individual who will continue to lead the team in delivering these high standards. The successful candidate will also be well supported by an experienced Junior Sister and Leadership team and therefore this is a fantastic opportunity for further professional development.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder works as an expert practitioner and is responsible for thedelivery of patient-focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing health and well-being needs of the client group on Sidmouth Ward.

-The post-holder displays excellent communication and leadership skills, and is responsible for the day-to-day line management of the team for which he/she is responsible.

-They are also responsible for standards of cleanliness in the clinical areaand for a well-maintained Ward/Department environment. The WardManager is a budget holder and authorised signatory for financial andphysical resources.

-They are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, safety and security of self and others in work area. They will identify and assess risks in work activities, and develop strategies to manage these effectively. They will also ensure the team works within risk management/Occupational Health legislation and Trust procedures.

-They will develop their own skills, taking responsibility for continuing professional development and performance, maintaining own portfolio in accordance with post-registration requirements.
