Senior Recovery after Critical Illness Practitioner

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to come and join our team. We are looking to employ a compassionate, forward thinking individual who will work across the Intensive Care, ward and outpatient environment to support patients and families through the complexities of physical and non-physical recovery following a critical illness.

In this role you will deliver specialist care and work within our multidisciplinary team of Medical and Nurse Consultants, Clinical psychologists, Specialist Nurses and Specialist Physiotherapists who all play a key part in providing holistic care which is patient centred.

This post is 6 months fixed term, with funding for 0.2 WTE. Consideration will be given to all applications.

Main duties of the job

o To work as an autonomous practitioner who is responsible for the delivery of patient focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing health and wellbeing needs of critically ill patients and their families with a particular focus on recovery after critical illness.o To receive referrals and independently and efficiently prioritise, assess, formulate and deliver treatment to your designated caseload of patients.o To work as an effective team member, assisting in the management and the organisation of work as required. The post holder displays effective communication skills and works as a role model for good practice, supporting and developing students and more junior colleagues as required. o To have awareness of Post Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) and use theoretical and practical knowledge to advice, guide and treat appropriately.
