Job summary

Work closely with the Deputy Head of Procurement and Procurement Manager, and with the Trust's clinical and corporate departments to deliver savings against the Trust's challenging Cost Improvement Programme. The post holder will lead on a portfolio of procurement contracts and projects with Trust.

They will have a detailed understanding of all procurement procedures including tendering, and have proven experience of delivering savings and managing collaborative relationships with like minded organisations and key strategic suppliers. The post requires a professional, motivated and enthusiastic approach, excellent organisational skills, the ability to communicate at all levels and to have a flexible approach to work.

Main duties of the job

The Procurement Department at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to support the team in the delivery of its tactical and transaction workstreams, and multi-million-pound QIPP delivery programme.

We are seeking candidates with excellent procurement knowledge and proven experience within the procurement sector.
