Job summary

Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT 3a - Urology)

Shifts are Monday to Friday between 8am to 5pm.

We require a passionate, enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator to join our Urology team.

We are looking for an excellent and proactive team member who can offer commitment in providing support to clinical and non-clinical staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills and be willing to multi-task under challenging conditions and have the ability to supervise and delegate work to those within their team.

Main duties of the job

You will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients' pathway of care, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly and within required targets.

This involves booking appointments, managing waiting lists, taking patient phone calls, optimising clinic utilisation, processing clinic letters and other general administrative tasks.

You will provide a consistent approach across the Trust, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that functions of the role are carried out correctly within given timescales.

  • Educated to A-level, or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C

Experience

  • Experience of using full range of IT systems and patient data systems
  • Experience of office setting
  • Customer Care Experience

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
