Band 6 Advanced Theatre Scrub Practitioner - Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatres

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Advanced Theatre Scrub Practitioner (registered nurse or registered ODP) to join our motivated and dynamic team at Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading.

Our hospital is part of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, rated Good by CQC.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatre complex consists of four theatres, part of busy twenty operating theatres department.

We provide elective surgeries for gynaecology, obstetric, urology and plastic procedures along with a 24 hour emergency cover for obstetric.

We deliver excellent patient experience and quality of care with patient safety at the forefront of our practice.

NMC registered nurse or HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).

Full time position; 37.5 hours per week.

Informal visits most welcome.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for innovative and enthusiastic individuals with good clinical decision making and excellent communication skills to join our friendly team.

In return we offer on-going learning opportunity and support towards continuous professional development.

You will also have the opportunity to work across other theatre specialties and participate in theatres out of hours rota.

The successful candidate will demonstrate considerable theatre knowledge.

Experience in obstetrics and gynaecology procedures are preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

You should be able to work in a pressurised environment and the ability to demonstrate effective leadership is essential.
