An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic motivated person to join the research team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust focusing on our Commercial Research Portfolio
Band 6 - 1WTE
Permanent contract
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is involved in numerous multi-centre studies adopted onto the NIHR portfolio as well as studies initiated and conducted by our own staff (investigator led). All studies are coordinated at department level and overseen by the Research and Innovation (R&I) Office.
You will work as part of the R&I Governance team with a focus on leading on our commercial portfolio and supported by a network of health professionals and the Local Clinical Research Network structure.
The number of commercial studies within the Trust is continuously growing and we need someone who can engage with stakeholders, offer help, ongoing support, training and education to a number of departments across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The primary duty of the post holder will be to work with research delivery teams and the wider multi-disciplinary team in setting up and conducting commercial studies that are NIHR adopted and/or investigator led. We are looking for individuals who have experience in a range of areas such as applying to Research Ethics Committees, auditing, monitoring and working within Research Governance policies and ensuring studies have all Regulatory approvals.
You will play a key role in supporting clinical recruitment, co-ordination and performance of research studies as well as staff training and development.

- A degree or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience of working alongside staff within a clinical environment.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Have effective time management and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Be able to integrate with a number of teams in order to achieve set objectives
- Be conversant with Good Clinical Practice and Research Governance.
- Be willing to work flexibly in terms of hours and duties to meet service needs.
Ideally you will have previous practical experience of research governance and working with commercial stakeholders.
