Job summary

To deliver, support and improve IM&T systems through training across the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for delivering and maintaining the full range of IM&T clinical system training across all sites of the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust. This will include providing introductory and refresher training, specialist training programmes and project training delivery as required, at all sites where Trust systems are used. The post holder will need to be flexible and responsive ensuring that training needs are met in periods of high demand, for example, intakes of new doctors, as well as working closely and flexibly with the IM&T Training Manager and project teams to ensure that appropriate training for new processes or systems is delivered, even in the face of uncertainty or changes in timescales.

As a team leader the post holder will be required to show leadership and provide a clear role model to the other trainers both permanent and contractors.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will have broad experience of a range of training approaches, including classroom-based training, e-learning, blended learning, and competency-based assessment and use these to deliver training and assess competencies during and after group or individual training sessions. The post holder will additionally have experience using appropriate digital media to relay complex information.

The post holder may be asked to manage and supervise the larger team, which includes recruitment, appraisal, disciplinary matters, training of new team members, and delivery of specialist training programmes.

On a day to day basis be available to provide support and guidance to more junior trainers offering opportunities for learning and development.
